Duncan Barker is a project director/manager with a proven track record of delivering demanding international energy projects on time and within budget. He has a wide experience of renewable and thermal power generation technologies including solar PV, wind, biomass-fired plants, biogas, energy from waste, biofuel production, hydro, CCGTs and coal-fired power plants.
From 2011 to 2016 as Mott MacDonald’s power team manager in Thailand he built the business from a handful of engineers to a nine fold increase in staff and steered it to a robust multi-million pound revenue operation. Responsibilities included developing the business, directing the commercial, financial and the legal aspects of the power team work, ensuring its quality control and technical excellence, in addition to the recruitment and training of approximately 60 engineers and support staff over a five year period.
Since the beginning of 2017 the role has expanded to resource manager for all Mott MacDonald’s Energy staff in South East Asia comprising almost 100 staff in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.
