Bangkok, Thailand – December 18, 2018 – Over 4,051 oil, gas & LNG professionals gathered at the inaugural Future Energy Asia Exhibition & Conference (FEA) from 12–14 December, 2018 at BITEC, Bangkok where industry leaders and decision-makers from the energy industry participated in high-level discussions focused on the evolving dynamics of the Asian energy landscape and new opportunities for the gas, LNG & oil sector to support growth, today, and in the future.
The exhibition & conference reported an impressive attendee number surpassing all expectations, closing on Day 3 with more than 4,051 trade attendees, over 338 conference delegates, 121 strategic and technical speakers and 50 exhibiting companies. The 3-day full-stream event was officially inaugurated and presided over by HE Dr Siri Jirapongphan, the Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand and was attended by allied energy parties from all across the continent as well as the industry. FEA 2018 featured an attendee profile including government leaders, integrated energy companies, cleantech providers, entrepreneurs and key industry stakeholders, brought together to discuss and formulate strategies and policies that will shape the future of Asia’s ever-evolving gas, LNG & oil scenario.
With a strong emphasis on future energy policy from the Thai government and the continuous support from all related stakeholders, sponsor companies and supporting associations, the 2018 Future Energy Asia Exhibition & Conference is now Asia’s most important full-stream gas, LNG, oil & energy transformation event, thus strengthening Thailand’s position and readiness to be Asia’s new leading energy hub, with worldwide recognition from the global energy community.
In his Government Address at Official Opening Ceremony, H.E. Dr. Siri Jirapongphan, Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand stated, “The Future Energy Asia Exhibition & Conference is a collaborative effort to publicise Thailand’s policy and readiness as an investment hub – with a showcase on our country’s readiness to become Asia’s sustainable energy hub, in accordance with the Thailand 4.0 plan. Mr. Patana Sangsriroujana, EGAT Deputy Governor – Strategy said that, “The future of the electrical industry will be different, due to the increased power consumption in the form of electricity (Electrification) and the distribution on energy sources (Decentralization) – which provides alternative sources of energy distributed across different areas. At the same time the use of technology (Digitalization) will play a major role in the electrical industry. The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) is committed to developing innovations and technology that will enhance the stability of the electrical system in Thailand, in order to meet the demand for reliable electricity with reasonable pricing – as well as to increase the country’s competitive advantage in the electrical industry that plays a major role in driving Thailand’s digital economy.
Event highlights included a 3-day Strategic Conference that focused on topics such as harmonisation of regional energy policies, promotion of industry-wide collaborations, successful development of energy infrastructure for emerging Asian economies and the greening of Asia.
The free-to-attend Centres of Technical Excellence (COTES) presented a robust technical conference focused primarily on upstream field development and strategic planning, gas and LNG development & technology, upstream field development & strategic planning, 4.0 digital energy systems, power generation & utilities, downstream and refining and transmission & distribution.
