2022 STRATEGIC CONFERENCE AGENDA
Co-located with Future Mobility Asia 2022, Future Energy Asia Exhibition and Summit 2022 is Southeast Asia’s most important and only event dedicated to Decarbonising ASEAN’s Energy Transition and Transformation. The event advances ASEAN towards a secure, affordable and low-carbon energy future, towards net zero mission.
Future Energy Asia 2022 places ASEAN at the centre-stage of global dialogue and thought leadership. ASEAN is expected to remain a key engine of growth for LNG, amounting to 83 MTPA growth between 2019-2040. Renewables represents huge investment opportunities in ASEAN with investments of over USD 281 billion going into ASEAN renewables between 2018-2025.
Endorsed by Thailand’s Ministry of Energy and co-hosted by EGAT and PTT, the event drives the region’s policy maker dialogue, knowledge sharing, innovations and project developments around the LNG, renewables, and power sectors.
The conference will consist of two stages – Strategic and Technical. We look forward to welcoming 200 global energy leaders, 150 exhibitors and 5,000 trade buyers.

By 2030, Southeast Asia to become the |

Joint Opening Ceremony with Future Mobility Asia 2022
ASEAN countries, including Thailand, have seen significant impact of COVID-19, oil & gas price volatility, and the trilemma of balancing energy security, affordability and sustainability. At COP26, Thailand pledged net zero emissions by 2065. In addition, Thailand made proactive strides to address and adapt to the new normal. These range from sustainable upstream production, LNG market liberalisation, infrastructure development, innovations in floating solar, EVs, digitalisations. The Opening Ceremony will showcase Thailand’s national energy priorities, policies, their implications, encompassing NOC, E&P and national utility perspectives.

Setting the Theme: Decarbonising The Energy Transition
Future Energy Asia 2022’s theme is Decarbonising ASEAN’s Energy Transition and Transformation. Amidst the global momentum to tackle climate change, the energy transition is an urgent priority for many countries including Southeast Asia. Strong COVID-19 recovery has driven robust energy demand growth and the energy crunch has cast challenges for secure, affordable and low-carbon energy access.
Decarbonisation the energy value chain will remain critical through policy and industry support, partnerships and technological innovations. Whilst gas and LNG remains a transition fuel, renewables have garnered strong global investment. Moreover, hydrogen has been widely hailed as the net zero fuel of the future, while the oil & gas sector have embraced energy transition through shift in strategies, adoption of technologies such as CCS, energy storage and digitalization.
By 2030, ASEAN will become the 4th largest energy consumer in the world. ASEAN’s energy transition pathways are unique, underpinned by diverse factors and goals: energy connectivity, universal access, aspiration on renewables, LNG cooperation and trade, technological innovations. Today’s programme allows you insights into ASEAN’s energy transition planning, role of gas and LNG, renewables integration.
